XPawn is an applied AI company headquartered in Thunder Bay, Ontario. We build software, advise on policy, and deliver research and custom AI development for healthcare, post-secondary, and enterprise clients across Canada.
Who we are
Helping the world with AI, one move at a time
XPawn started with a simple observation. Clinicians were losing hours every week to paperwork, and Canadian institutions were being asked to adopt AI faster than their policies could keep up. We built XPawn to help on both fronts, and we have grown from there.
Today, XPawn operates as an applied AI company with three pillars. Our flagship product, Formis, automates form work for healthcare and beyond. Our consulting practice helps Canadian organizations stay ahead of Bill 194, FIPPA, and responsible AI adoption. Our research and custom development group builds AI with universities, hospitals, and enterprise clients who need a research-grade partner.

Humans always remain accountable for AI-assisted decisions. XPawn does not recommend autonomous decision systems in regulated environments.

Every AI output we deliver is reviewable, auditable, and explainable. Audit is not an afterthought, it is a design requirement.
